The Most Beautiful Light
Callista comes from the Greek kallistē — the superlative of "beautiful." Not just beautiful. The most beautiful. My own name, Alyona, comes from an old Slavic root meaning light — the bright one, the one who shines. I didn't set out to make the two names fit together, but once I noticed it, the whole idea of this shop clicked into place: finding the most beautiful light for a home, through pattern, color, and the kind of detail that only shows up when something was made by hand.
Hi, I'm Alyona
My path here started in textiles, not home decor. I trained in fashion, with real sewing experience behind me, and before Callista Home I ran a fashion brand in another country with a business partner — who, by coincidence, was also named Alyona. That's where I learned to actually look at fabric: the weight of it, how a print repeats, why one printed cotton feels expensive and another doesn't. Later, working in e-commerce and retail more broadly, I kept noticing the same gap on the home side that I'd spent years solving in fashion - most of what gets sold as "French-inspired" wallpaper and fabric has none of the actual craft behind it. I wanted to bring the same eye for fabric into people's homes.

Callista Home started as a side project - a handful of patterns I loved, put up just to see if anyone else wanted them too. It didn't stay small for long. The side project became the real thing, and now it's what I do.
What We Carry
Every pattern in this shop is chosen personally, not pulled from a trend report. I look for pieces with real provenance — hand block-printed wallpaper, historic French motifs, fabric from mills that have been doing this for generations — the kind of detail that rewards a closer look. You'll see that in the small stories behind our patterns: the history of French domino paper, Paris ateliers still printing by hand, the difference between a wallpaper, a panel, and a piece of domino paper.

Still Growing
Callista Home is a young shop, and I'm building the collection one pattern and one atelier at a time. If that's the kind of thing you're drawn to — history, craft, a little French confidence — I'd love for you to look around.
